15.09.2016: Track laying continues

We reported earlier that a connecting track was to be built between the two parts of the museum's tracks. Last year, the necessary rails and sleepers were procured and temporarily laid. The demanding part of the undertaking, the welding, tamping and alignment of the track, is now taking place. To do this, around 250 tons of ballast will have to be removed and relaid, and this will be done for us by professionals with the appropriate equipment. Work began on 13.9.2016 and is expected to last until the end of September. The track should be ready in time for our next event on 8 and 9 October.
