13.07.2022: Review of the summer festival
Last weekend, our traditional summer festival took place at the Historic Engine Shed in Wittenberge. We had already started with the preparations on the Thursday before. First of all, we had to prepare our operational vehicles for their use. This included cleaning some locomotives, heating up steam locomotives, greasing diesel locomotives, some shunting work and, of course, preparing the catering. Here are some pictures.
As a highlight, our colleagues from the "little railway" in Lower Saxony assembled parts of their model railway this time. We had cleared a track in the locomotive shed so that they could build their layout under the roof.
At least on Saturday it had proved its worth as there were a couple of heavy rain showers. All in all, this did not harm the good mood and the number of visitors. After all, we welcomed around 1.000 visitors to our event.
There was a lot on offer. Our steam locomotives 50 3570, EMMA and PRITZWALK could be admired under steam and in operation. Also the diesel locomotives 0604, two locomotives of the class V22, the diesel locomotive 60022 and our trolley cars were in use.
We have received a lot of positive feedback and are already looking forward to our autumn festival at the beginning of October, when we will celebrate our 10th anniversary in the Historic Engine Shed Wittenberge. You can already look forward to it with us!
